Kavon Carter is already serving 8 years in an attempted robbery case. He plead guilty to the drug charge Monday, according to the BCT.

An alleged gang member who is already serving eight years in prison in connection with an armed robbery that took place in 2015 admitted to a drug charge this week.

Kavon Carter, 19, of Lumberton, pleaded guilty on Monday to third-degree possession of drugs for having suboxone in Mount Holly earlier this year, the Burlington County Times reports. He faces three years in prison, to be served simultaneously with his current sentence.

In May, he was sentenced to eight years in state prison on charges of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.
He and 20-year-old Tayron Brown, of Edgewater Park, previously pleaded guilty to robbing a Mount Holly man at gunpoint on Hulme Street on May 7, 2015.

They admitted that they approached him as he walked home from the gas station at which he worked and demanded the keys from the safe, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Mount Holly Police Chief Thomas Mastrangelo.

When the man said he was unable to access the safe, Carter and Brown walked him to his house, where they were chased off by his relatives, authorities said. They were arrested a short time later, and police said they recovered the gun used in the crime. They are alleged members of the Gotti Boy Movement (GBM) street gang, which is associated with the Bloods.
