Bet Your Bottom Dollar: Grocery Store Opens Today
Cinnaminson's newest grocer is all set for a bevy of shoppers beginning early this morning.
director of operations Don Ciotti said the discount grocer aims to provide the lowest prices in the area when it in the Mainline Shopping Center on Route 130 today at 8 a.m.
“We don't think our prices can be beat,” Ciotti said, as he stood in the aisle of the Cinnaminson store Thursday afternoon, while stock and delivery personnel were readying for an onslaught of customers.
The grocer’s ingredients for success include an efficient display method, the storing of products on top or below shelves to cut back on stocking costs, and encouraging customers to bring their own bags, Ciotti said.

Shoppers pushing orange carts in the brightly lit store will find wide aisles, sale prices in large bins and a refrigerated room for fresh vegetables and fruit. Dairy and frozen food products are located in upright behind-door refrigerators.
“People tell us it’s a pleasure shopping in our stores,” Ciotti said.

The store keeps items that “customers need every day,” on hand, according to Ciotti. Deep-discount pricing is divided into three colorful groups: orange for unbelievable price; red for special buy; and purple for while supplies last.
A couple of specials listed in this week's circular are chicken drums and thighs for 57¢ a pound and T-bone steaks for $5.48 a pound.
The stores carry national brands, as well as three store brands: Hannaford, My Essentials and Taste of Inspiration. Nature’s Place is the organic privately owned brand.
Tenisha Waldo of corporate communications from Bottom Dollar's North Carolina headquarters was also making preparations for the grand opening. She said the company has a strong focus on the “We Won’t Be Beat” campaign. Stores will beat any price from a competitor on the same item by a penny.
And should a shopper be unhappy with any fruits, vegetables or meats, the store will offer a double-back guarantee: The item is replaced, and the customer will be given a full refund.
“Our store will also offer a double refund on any private-brand products,” Waldo said.
Waldo added the store has hired 30 “energetic and lively” employees.
Deputy Mayor Anthony Minniti said the opening of Bottom Dollar is providing “another unique shopping alternative to Cinnaminson’s ever-growing Route 130 business district."
