Cinnaminson Boys Soccer Team Captures South Jersey Crown

The Pirates won their first sectional title since 2007, according to the Burlington County Times.

For the first time since 2007, the Cinnaminson High School boys soccer team is a sectional champion, the Burlington County Times reports.

The Pirates (18-4-2) defeated Audubon, 4-0, to capture the South Jersey Group II title on Thursday.

They will play Governor Livingston in a state semifinal on Tuesday.

Steve Kalbach led the way with two goals, according to nj.com. Nikhail Patel and Mason Stepnowski also scored, and Pat McCarthy and Mark Staudenmayer provided assists.

Cinnaminson entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed. It opened things with a 3-0 win over No. 14 Collingswood, followed by a 1-0 win over No. 6 West Deptford.

In the semifinals, the Pirates upset No. 2 Woodstown, 4-1.

Audubon was a team full of upsets, entering the tournament as the No. 9 seed and knocking off No. 8 Deptford, No. 1 Sterling and No. 4 Middle Township before finally falling to Cinnaminson.
