Cinnaminson Committeeman No Longer Pursuing Superintendent of Public Works Position

William "Ben" Young announced he won't seek the position, according to the Burlington County Times.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — Cinnaminson Deputy Mayor William “Ben” Young has withdrawn his name from consideration for the role of Superintendent of Public Works, the Burlington County Times reports. He made the announcement Monday night. His application for the position sparked concerns from some residents over the impact getting the position would have on his pension.

Young has pursued the $100,000 position multiple times over the last few years, according to the report. He may take a similar position in another town.

Young has been a committeeman since 2006, and decided to run for the seat in order to help “clean up Public Works.”

He is not running for re-election this year. Instead, June Neuman will join Minniti in a Republican Primary race against Ernie McGill and Ryan Horner.

As for the position itself, it was reported earlier this month that the township is considering hiring an outside firm to help fill the position.
