Cinnaminson High School Boys Soccer Team Falls in State Final

The Pirates gave up two second half goals to Hackettstown in a 3-1 loss, according to nj.com.

Two goals in the second half were the difference as the Cinnaminson High School boys soccer team fell to Hackettstown, 3-1, in the NJSIAA State Group II final on Sunday, according to nj.com.

Mark Staudenmayer scored for the Pirates in the first half, off an assist from Allen Barrett.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime, but Jared Leckburg and Josh Weiss scored second half goals to give Hackettstown the win.

Cinnaminson finished the season 19-5-2, and won the South Jersey Group II title with a 4-0 win over Audubon in the sectional final.

It was their first sectional title since 2007, the Burlington County Times reports.

The Pirates entered the sectional tournament as the No. 3 seed.

It opened things with a 3-0 win over No. 14 Collingswood, followed by a 1-0 win over No. 6 West Deptford.

In the semifinals, the Pirates upset No. 2 Woodstown, 4-1.

Cinnaminson defeated Governor Livingston in the state semifinals, 2-1, in overtime.

Staudenmayer had the game-winning goal after Barrett scored with 1:15 left to force overtime, according to nj.com.
