Cinnaminson High School Football Team Set For Playoffs

The Pirates are the No. 3 seed in Central Jersey, but can still prove to be the best in the South under a new playoff format.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson High School football team will compete for the Central Jersey championship this fall. However, the new playoff system introduced the season gives the Pirates the opportunity to prove they are the best in South Jersey as well.

Cinnaminson is the No. 3 seed in the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 2 playoffs, according to nj.com. Cinnaminson will host No. 6 Shore Regional in the first round on Friday night, Nov. 2, 7 p.m.

The winner will play the winner of the game between No. 2 Manasquan and No. 7 Delaware Valley in the semifinals on Nov. 9. The championship game is set for Nov. 16, but it doesn’t end there this season.

After the traditional Thanksgiving Week rivalry games, the Central Jersey Group 2 champions will play the South Jersey Group 2 champions. To view the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 playoff bracket, visit nj.com.

Cinnaminson is 6-2 this season, with its losses coming at the hands of Haddonfield, 21-0, and Willingboro, 24-12. The Pirates have two shutout wins this season, both at home. They defeated Pemberton, 18-0, on Sept. 8; and Bishop Eustace, 40-0, on Oct. 5. Its smallest margin of victory was nine points, when it defeated Northern Burlington, 24-15, on Sept. 21.

Shore is also 6-2, recovering from a 1-2 start to make the playoffs.
