Cinnaminson Police Honor Longtime, Retiring Detective
Cinnaminson Police Det. Raymond "Joe" Shaw III retired effective Jan. 31 after 28 years of service.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson Police Department recently paid tribute to an officer who is retiring from the department after nearly 30 years of service. Cinnaminson Police Det. Raymond “Joe” Shaw III retired effective Jan. 31, according to Cinnaminson Police Chief Richard Calabrese.
“Congratulations to Detective Raymond "Joe" Shaw, III on his retirement after serving 28 years as a dedicated police officer,” the Cinnaminson Police Department said in a Facebook post. “We wish you the very best in retirement and writing your next chapter.”
Shaw began his career with SEPTA Transit Police in 1991, according to a biography provided to Patch by the police department.

While there, he served in the Patrol Division as a SORT team member and Firearms Instructor. In 1999, he joined the Cinnaminson Township Police Department.
As a member of the police department, he served in the Patrol Division as an FTO (field training officer), Police Academy Instructor, EMT and DRE (Drug Recognition Expert).

Shaw was assigned to the Pro-Active Motel Enforcement unit and received numerous awards and citations for his outstanding work, police said. In 2011, he was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau as a Detective.
Shaw spent 24 years as Chief Master at Arms and Navy Diver with the U.S. Navy Reserve.
