Cinnaminson Quarterback Headed to Lehigh University
Nick Thevanayagam signed his letter of intent on Wednesday.

Cinnaminson quarterback Nick Thevanayagam completed his long journey on National Signing Day, when he signed his national letter of intent to attend Lehigh University.
Thevanayagam signed his letter during a ceremony Wednesday morning at Cinnaminson High School.
Thevanayagam had never played a down of football before beating out two seniors for the starting quarterback job as a sophomore transfer. He went on to lead the Pirates to a successful three years, including a 9-2 season and playoff semifinal appearance in 2014.

Thevanayagam, who stands six feet tall, weighs 190 pounds, runs a 4.5 40 yard dash and can bench press 225 pounds, describes himself as a versatile athlete in his ncaa.com profile.
“I think of myself as an athlete because I can play multiple positions at a very competitive level,” he says in his profile. “ I am a hard working individual who seeks perfection on and off the football field. I am devoted to my studies, and hope to pursue a career in the medical field. I am a leader on the field, and form unbreakable bonds with my teammates. I am different from others because I am humble, hardworking, and get the job done.”

He is listed as a running back on lehighsports.com, but the team recognizes his versatility as well.
“He can play quarterback, running back, slot receiver or safety,” the team says on his profile. “He also lettered in baseball.”
He will major in Arts and Sciences.
Thevanayagam was first team all-conference and all-county,a Brooks-Irvine Player of the Week, a Captains Award recipient, county offensive player of the year, all-academic Burlington County, was on the Principal’s List and was a National Honors Society member.
The Cinnaminson High School football team named him their MVP.
He is one of three Burlington County players and four South Jersey players overall in Lehigh’s recruiting class.
Lehigh was 3-8 in 2014.
