Cinnaminson Wrestlers Advance at District Tournament

Cinnaminson went from competing for a state team title right into the district tournament.

The Cinnaminson High School wrestling team rolled from the state team tournament right into the district tournament Friday night at Holy Cross.

“We roll right into districts,” Pat Morton told the Burlington County Times after his win over Westampton Tech’s Anthony Cardona in the quarterfinals of the District 26 tournament. “It feels like we won the sectional title a year ago.”

It was one week to the day since the Pirates beat Point Pleasant Beach, 55-18, for the Central Jersey Group I title. Two days later, Cinnaminson fell to Paulsboro in the state semifinals.
