Columbus Farmers Market Grand Re-Opening Set for Saturday
The market was devastated by a fire in 2014.

A bigger, better Columbus Farmers Market will make its debut this weekend.
There will be a grand reopening on Saturday, noon-4 p.m., with a ribbon-cutting at 2 p.m., the Courier Post reports. There will be music, prizes and a pig roast.
The market has been remodeled and expanded following a fire that destroyed the L shaped building in 2014.

The fire was caused by an electrical short in the building.
No one was injured in the Tuesday afternoon fire, which lead to the market being closed for eight days. It was open in time for Thanksgiving.

Construction ahead of the grand opening began last summer.
Those who have been to the market tell the newspaper the market is cleaner, brighter and more appetizing. Only three of the 10 stores that were damaged are reopening, but there are many new stores that have opened during the market’s soft opening over the last few weeks.
