Drugs, Guns Seized During Traffic Stop in Cinnaminson: Police

One of the guns was allegedly stolen from Pennsylvania last year.

Cinnaminson, NJ -- Multiple people were arrested, and police seized two handguns and an array of drugs following a traffic stop in the area of Route 130 South and Highland Avenue at about 12:55 a.m. Sunday morning, Cinnaminson Police said on Monday.

Officer Mike Curran initially made the stop for motor vehicle violations. A computer check also revealed that the registered owner of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant for their arrest, police said.

As the officer spoke to the driver, he could see that one of the rear seat passengers was holding a pill bottle, police said. After taking the bottle from the passenger, the same passenger then appeared to stuff items into the rear seat and hand cash to another passenger, 21-year-old Manuel Roman III, of Pennsauken.

Police say that further investigation revealed that Roman had a pistol with ammunition in his pocket. The loaded handgun was defaced, and was later found to have been stolen from Pennsylvania in June of 2015.

Police then searched the area in which Roman was seated. Police allege they found 17 plastic baggies of suspected heroin and nine suboxone sublingual strips.

A further search of the vehicle revealed various prescription pills, suspected marijuana, suspected cocaine, and various items used to package and distibute controlled dangerous substances.

Police also found a loaded .357 caliber handgun, and are still attempting to determine the ownership.

Two other passengers were found to have active warrants for their arrests and were taken into custody without incident, and police seized $1,680 in cash.

Roman was charged with multiple weapon and drug related charges and his bail was set at $200,000 full. He was lodged in Burlington County Jail.
