Funeral for State Trooper from Cinnaminson Attracts Thousands

Several hundred people came out for the two viewings and funeral for Sean Cullen.

Cinnaminson, NJ -- Several hundred people turned out to pay their respects to New Jersey State Trooper Sean Cullen over the last two days.

Law enforcement representatives and friends from all over came to honor the 31-year-old Cullen during his funeral, one week after he was killed by a passing driver while responding to an accident on 295 in West Deptford, on Monday.

"We are honored and humbled that more than 1,000 police officers joined us today to say goodbye to fallen Trooper Sean Cullen," New Jersey State Police said Monday night. "Officers from as far away as California, Texas, Arkansas, Michigan, and others stood proud to show their support.

"It was an awesome display of family and solidarity. The New Jersey State Police would like to thank all of you who joined us today. We appreciate your support, and we know Trooper Cullen's family and friends appreciate it as well.

"RIP brother, and Godspeed. We'll take the watch from here."

Those who showed up to honor Cullen included Rufus Graham, who said he grew up with Cullen’s brother in Cinnaminson, and called Sean Cullen, “the best guy in the world,” the Courier Post reports.

Two New York State Troopers came to honor a fallen comrade, according to the report. For Trooper Joshua Kaye, it was his seventh funeral for a fellow law enforcement officer.

Chris Burgos, of the New Jersey Policeman’s Benevolent Association, called the incident a “stark reminder” of the dangers state troopers face on highways across the nation, according to the report.

"Our community joined with Law Enforcement and Emergency Service Members from all over our country to say goodbye to Cinnaminson resident, Trp. Sean Cullen - EOW 3-8-2016," Cinnaminson officials posted on the township's official Facebook page. "RIP. You may be gone...but you will never be forgotten."
