Gang Member Sentenced In South Jersey Armed Robbery: Prosecutor
Tifani Young was previously found guilty of witness tampering and robbery charges, authorities said.

A member of a criminal street gang in South Jersey has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison for his role in the robbery of a Mount Holly man at gunpoint two years ago, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced.
Tifani Young Jr., 22, of Pemberton Township, was previously convicted on charges of first-degree witness tampering, first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery.
A jury found that Young was the potential getaway driver in an attempted gas station robbery on May 7, 2015.
Two fellow members of the Gotti Boy Movement (GBM) criminal street gang have already been sentenced in the incident. GBM is affiliated with the Bloods criminal street gang.

Kavon Carter, 19, of Lumberton, and Tayron Brown, 20, of Edgewater Park previously admitted that they robbed a gas station worker on Hulme Street as he walked home after his shift. They admitted that they approached him as he walked home from the gas station at which he worked and demanded the keys from the safe, according to the prosecutor's office.
When the man said he was unable to access the safe, Carter and Brown walked him to his house, where they were chased off by his relatives, authorities said. They were arrested a short time later, and police said they recovered the gun used in the crime. Young later threatened the victim when he made a statement to law enforcement concerning the incident.

“Witness and victim intimidation strikes at the very core of the criminal justice system, and if it is not forcefully addressed, deters law-abiding individuals from coming forward with information to ensure that people committing violent crimes can be effectively prosecuted and removed from society,” Coffina said. “This case demonstrates that our Office will prosecute cases of intimidation very aggressively and will take every reasonable step to reassure our residents that law enforcement in Burlington County will stand with them when they take the brave step of coming forward with information about criminal activity.”
In May, Carter was sentenced to eight years in state prison on charges of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.
Brown was sentenced to seven years incarceration for first-degree robbery and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
