Gang Member Convicted In South Jersey Armed Robbery
Tifani Young was found guilty of witness tampering and robbery charges, authorities said.

A member of a criminal street gang in South Jersey has been convicted of his role in the robbery of a Mount Holly man at gunpoint two years ago, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced.
Tifani Young Jr., 22, of Pemberton Township, was convicted on charges of first-degree witness tampering, first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery. Following the verdict, handed down on Thursday, Young was detained by Burlington County Sheriff’s Officers and taken to the Burlington County Jail, pending sentencing on July 6.
A jury found that Young was the potential getaway driver in an attempted gas station robbery on May 7, 2015.
Two fellow members of the Gotti Boy Movement (GBM) criminal street gang have already been sentenced in the incident.

Kavon Carter, 19, of Lumberton, and Tayron Brown, 20, of Edgewater Park previously admitted that they robbed a gas station worker on Hulme Street as he walked home after his shift.
They admitted that they approached him as he walked home from the gas station at which he worked and demanded the keys from the safe.

When the man said he was unable to access the safe, Carter and Brown walked him to his house, where they were chased off by his relatives, authorities said. They were arrested a short time later, and police said they recovered the gun used in the crime.
Young later threatened the victim when he made a statement to law enforcement concerning the incident.
“Witness tampering is a very serious offense because it undermines the entire criminal justice system,” Coffina said. “Our proofs in this case were very strong and we are grateful to members of the jury for recognizing that this individual deserves to be sent to state prison. Let anyone who intends to intimidate or harm a witness or crime victim in Burlington County take note that we will protect our residents and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.”
Earlier this month, Carter was sentenced to eight years in state prison on charges of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.
Brown was sentenced to seven years incarceration for first-degree robbery and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Young also faces charges in the case of 23-year-old Adam Clark, of Pemberton Township, who is accused of leading police on a car chase following a shooting in October 2015 in the township’s Sunbury Village.
A 17- year-old boy who was also a defendant in that case was fatally shot in February 2016 at a Cherry Hill motel.
