Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Cinnaminson.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — The new coronavirus outbreak in New Jersey and across the nation is having vast impacts in Cinnaminson, including the closure of schools and many businesses.

Over the weekend, two more Cinnaminson residents died after testing positive for the coronavirus, including a 71-year-old woman and an 89-year-old man. An 87-year-old woman and an 83-year-old woman also previously died in Cinnaminson due to the coronavirus. The county lists a total of five coronavirus-related deaths in Cinnaminson.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 87 positive cases of coronavirus in Cinnaminson, and 3,556 cases in Burlington County.

BUSINESS

SCHOOLS
All schools in New Jersey will remain closed for the rest of the academic year in response to the new coronavirus outbreak, state officials said. This has left school districts across the state, including Cinnaminson, exploring options for graduation and prom. Rowan College at Burlington County has an historic graduation ceremony set for Friday, with its largest class set to be the first to participate in a virtual commencement ceremony.

MENTAL HEALTH

The quarantine related to the coronavirus is taking a mental toll on people across the country. A Cinnaminson therapist recently spoke with Patch and offered tips for how to cope with the effects of the current quarantine.

STATE RANKINGS

As of the weekend, Cinnaminson ranked 418th out of 565 municipalities for coronavirus, averaging 4.91 cases per 1,000 residents, according to state data.

SPORTS CANCELLED
When Gov. Phil Murphy announced that schools would be closed for the rest of the academic year, he also announced that the spring sports season would be cancelled. After that, the organizers of the annual Carpenter Cup baseball and softball tournaments announced that those events would be cancelled as well.
