RCBC Names New VP Of Enrollment And Student Success

She will take over for Dr. Michael A. Cioce, who was recently named the college's sixth president.

Dr. Karen Archambault has been appointed the vice president of Enrollment Management and Student Success at Rowan College at Burlington County, the college announced. She assumes the role effective Sept. 1, when Dr. Michael A. Cioce becomes the college’s sixth president.

Archambault has served as dean of Enrollment Management since September 2015, according to the college. Since her arrival, the college has bucked national enrollment tends with three consecutive semesters of enrollment increases, overhauled the structure and customer focus of student services in the new Student Success Center, and implemented the rapidly growing 3+1 program, in which students can earn a Rowan University bachelor’s degree for less than what most universities charge for a single year.

“Dr. Archambault has been critical to the success achieved by the Enrollment Management and Student Success Division the past three years and I look forward to our next chapter as we begin new positions at the top community college in New Jersey,” Cioce said. “Karen is extremely analytical, compassionate for students and a tremendous leader who has helped shape the college’s largest division into a team that truly works together to help all students succeed.”

Archambault is also very active in NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising, a nonprofit organization that promotes and supports quality academic advising in colleges. NACADA elected Archambault to serve as its president starting in October.

“Working with the talented students, faculty and staff of RCBC has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career and I’m so excited about this new opportunity to help students and the college continue to grow,” Archambault said.

Archambault holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Rowan University, a master’s in counseling from Trinity Washington University, a master’s degree in history from Old Dominion University and a bachelor’s degree in history from Salisbury University.

She succeeds Cioce, who was named the college’s new president in May. He assumes the role from former president Paul Drayton, who resigned for medical reasons in April. Cioce has been the acting president since Drayton announced he was taking a leave of absence last summer. The leave came shortly after the college appointed special counsel to investigate a complaint filed by a college employee.
