School Improvement Project Underway in Cinnaminson

The multimillion dollar project will be done in two phases, and is expected to be fully finished by next year.

A multimillion dollar project in the Cinnaminson School District that was approved by voters on Sept. 30 is underway, the Burlington County Times reports.

The project deals with upgrades, improvements and expansions at the high school, the middle school, the Eleanor Rush Intermediate School and the New Albany Elementary School.

It includes new security vestibules at the elementary school and the intermediate school, replacement of the existing fire alarms at the middle school and various renovations at the high school.

There will also be a new gymnasium at the high school, which would seat 1,000 people, as well as six new tennis courts at the high school.

The total estimated cost of the project is over $34 million, including about $11.7 million in state aid.

The project will be done in two phases, according to the report. The first phase is underway and expected to be complete by September.

The second phase will begin in June, and is expected to be complete by 2016, according to the report.
