3 Shootings Over 1 Week With No Arrests Reported In Roselle

Authorities are asking the public for help after three separate shootings were reported. Police have increased patrols.

ROSELLE, NJ — Authorities are asking for the public's help after three shootings were reported in Roselle in the past week.

The shootings on March 2, March 5 and March 9 are not believed to be related and no arrests have been made in any of the shootings, according to borough officials.

The first shooting happened on March 2 on the 100 block of West Ninth Avenue where someone shot a gun at a person who was not hit, according to officials.

The second shooting happened on Friday 5 at 240 East 1st Avenue where three people were hit with gunfire, but none had any major injuries, said officials.

The third shooting was on Tuesday morning when a person fired a gun at the 200 block of East Ninth Avenue. No one was hit.

"We believe these three incidents are unrelated and are asking the public's assistance for any help identifying the perpetrators," said Roselle Mayor Donald Shaw. "I would like to extend my appreciation to the police department, which has been aggressively investigating all three incidents. I have asked the police department to increase patrols, while the suspects in all three cases remain at-large."
