What you'll need:
1 pound ground beef (percentage to your liking)
1 pouch of taco mix (Ortega, McCormicks)
1 bag tortilla chips (Tostito's)
3 small tomatoes
1 head of lettuce
1 large bag of shredded Mexican cheese
Sharp knife
Large serving plate
Oven pre-set to 350 degrees
Cutting board
Olive Oil
-
Wash tomatoes and dice them
-
Wash and cut lettuce
-
Put olive oil in pan on stove and brown the ground beef (Season to your liking but not too much)
Strain beef and put back into pan with the flame still on
Pour taco mix and follow directions on taco mix package (usually adding ¾ cup of water and stirring until the beef soaks up all the liquid)
Layer plate with tortilla chips (one deep)
Add the cheese, beef, cheese again, lettuce, and tomato in that order
Repeat those steps and add another layer of each
Put dish in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until most cheese is melted
For an extra kick, if you are brave:
At the supermarket, pick up two jalapeno peppers and a few habanero peppers. Chop the jalapenos into circles and the habaneros into little pieces. To soften the blow, heat olive oil in a pan and cook the peppers. Theys are VERY hot so make sure to put them in a bowl on the side to add at your own risk.
