What To Eat On Judgement Day

What would you choose for your last meal?

With all of the talk of the rapture scheduled to take place tonight at 6pm, I find myself thinking about how I spent what was possibly my last day on earth. I am not a deeply religious person (Is it safe to say that today?) but I definitely believe in a higher power. I like to think of myself as a good enough person that should the rapture take place, I won’t be doomed to eternity in that less than desirable place. So, although I am vaguely aware of the impending doom hanging over our heads, I am not concerned about it and expect that it is all a bunch of baloney.

That being said, I thought about my possible last day and realized that it could have been more productive. I slept way too late, wasted too much time on Facebook and didn’t see enough of my kids. I planted a flat of flowers in my yard that may now go completely unappreciated and skipped the usual Saturday housework. I mean, what is the point?

But in the end it all came down to the food. It started as a simple question posed to my husband as to what he wanted for dinner tonight and turned into a much more serious debate. After all, your last meal is serious stuff. We tossed around a few ideas but it was a hands-down, unanimous decision. I hope it isn’t too crowded. We can’t be the only ones who feel this way. We agreed that there is no way we could leave this earth without one more trip to Spiritos! Is anyone with me on this? See you there. (Before 6!)
