Clark Hires Three New Police Officers

The three officers were previously employed in Newark.

At Monday night's council meeting, Mayor Sal Bonaccorso swore in three new officers for the Clark Police Department.

Patrolmen Kenneth Gaulette, Sergio Henriques and Pedro Oliveira are intergovernmental transfers from the Newark Police Department where budget cuts forced many officers to be laid off.

Mayor Bonaccorso spoke highly of all three men. "These gentlemen impressed me a lot," he said. "They were very well presented and very passionate about their careers and wanting to get back into it. I think these three gentlemen will be a great complement to the department."

Capt. Al Scherb, the Officer-in-Charge of the department since former Chief Denis Connell's retirement, said that he looks forward to working with each of the officers and that they will hopefully be the first of many new officers to be added to the department in the next year or so.
