Clark Target Evacuated Thursday Afternoon

Breaking: The Target on Central Avenue in Clark was evacuated Thursday afternoon to check for carbon monoxide levels, police report.

CLARK, NJ — The Target on Central Avenue in Clark was evacuated Thursday afternoon to check for carbon monoxide levels.

Emergency officials responded to the building after a couple of employees reported not feeling well in the area of Starbucks, police Chief Pedro Matos told Patch.

"Thought it might be carbon monoxide," Matos said. "Store was evacuated as a precaution. The fire department and gas company responded."

No elevated levels of carbon monoxide were found and the store was reopened, Matos said.
