Do you know a caregiver in the Clark-Garwood area?
Special half-day workshop offers opportunity for caregivers to hear from medical doctor, elder law attorney, and others.

Program
Caregivers face many complex issues while caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The disease affects individuals in different ways and progresses at different rates. However, everyone with Alzheimer’s disease experiences a decline in cognitive ability and daily functioning. People with dementia are less able to take care of themselves as the disease progresses and caregivers become increasingly responsible for all aspects of care.
Caregivers must balance a loved one’s care needs with autonomy, weigh treatment options, plan for the future, as well as ensure safety and well-being. Families facing these challenges need information, resources, and tools.
This special half-day caregiver conference will:
- Focus on care and treatment options from a palliative care perspective, emphasizing person-centered care and strategies that improve quality of life.
- Provide an overview of best practices for oral hygiene and maintaining nutrition as the disease progresses.
- Address the importance of legal and financial planning for people with Alzheimer’s and their families.
