F-SP SERVICE LEAGUE THRIFT SHOP TO FEATURE END-OF-SEASON SALES,
ART SALES IN MARCH
SCOTCH PLAINS - The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League Thrift Shop at 1741 East Second St. in Scotch Plains will wrap up its winter season with special closeout sales beginning on Saturday, February 27 when it features a one-day “Dollar Sale.” Merchandise originally priced between $2 and $10 will sell for $1, merchandise originally priced over $10 will be just $3. All other merchandise will sell for half off the original price. From Tuesday, March 1 thru Saturday, March 5, the shop will hold bag sales where customers will pay just $5 to fill a brown grocery bag with as many items as they can fit to the brim.
On Tuesday, March 8, the shop will open for spring with all new merchandise, especially items to help customers prepare for the Easter season with great outfits for the whole family and holiday bric-a-brac for decorating. For some “luck o’ the Irish,” there will also be St. Patrick’s Day merchandise. In addition, the League will celebrate March as “Youth Art Month” by featuring displays and sales of all forms of artwork. Framed works in various media, frames of all sizes and styles, and prints ready for framing will be featured during the month at very reasonable prices. Store windows will also display artwork by many area students.
The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that has served the community since 1974 through the operation of its thrift shop in Scotch Plains. Since its founding, the League has donated over $1.1 million to area service organizations and charitable causes.
