Garwood Celebrates Local Government Week with Virtual Activites
The importance of local government is being highlighted throughout New Jersey this week.

The Borough of Garwood is joining municipalities across the Garden State in celebrating the New Jersey State League of Municipalities NJ Local Government Week 2020 from April 19-25.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Borough will be celebrating with a variety of online activities to raise awareness about the importance of local government and the role it plays in achieving the best life for communities.
Residents are encourage to follow the celebration at Garwood.org and the Borough of Garwood's Facebook page! Here is a list of the activities that will take place throughout the week:

- Mon, April 20th: The Garwood Mayors Wellness Campaign! Start the week with a fitness challenge posted on the Garwood Borough - Government Facebook page.
- Tues, April 21st: Facebook Live Q&A with Mayor Todisco! Hosted by Garwood Live at 4:30 pm at Facebook.com/MayorSaraTodisco.
- Wed, April 22nd: The #GarwoodStrong Sign Contest for Garwood Kids! Children are encouraged to make a #GarwoodStrong sign and email a photo to garwoodcelebrations@garwood.org by Wed, April 29th. The top 3 signs will win a Dunkin gift card courtesy of Mayor Todisco.
- Thurs, April 23rd: Throwback Thursday! Post your favorite old photo of Garwood on the Garwood Borough - Government Facebook page.
- Fri, April 24th: Game Night!
Play a board game as a family, or, if you are by yourself, a video game. Post a photo on the Garwood Borough - Government Facebook page. - Fri, April 24th: Help Others!
Garwood is participating in a food drive for the Rahway Food for Friends food pantry. Drop off your donations at Crossroads (78 North Ave) from 9 am-12 pm. - Sat, April 25th: Shop Local Saturdays! Order lunch or dinner from your favorite Garwood restaurants. See who is open at Garwood.org/ShopLocal.
