Garwood Husband Says Wife Is Mom Of The Year

Garwood husband shares his wife's amazing story on why he believes she is "Mom Of The Year."

CLARK/GARWOOD, NJ — Last week we asked you to nominate a mother who you feel should be Clark-Garwood Patch's Mom Of The Year in honor of Mother's Day.

Husband Ralph Trentacosta of Garwood nominated his wife Annie Trentacosta and shared her amazing story.

"Where do I start? There are many things that makes Annie an exceptional mother. First off, we have four children; Chase (9), Blake (6), Kendall (5) and Holden (7 months). Trying to balance the lives of four children alone is challenging enough but when the older three all have different school start and end times, it makes the day quite challenging from the start. But every day she gets the kids ready and to school on time. My job has recently moved our office further away then I was, so my availability to help out has been reduced. She handles the morning chaos solo. She has the kids dressed, fed and ready for school all while still caring for our newest member. Once the kids are home from school she makes sure they do their homework, helps them study and makes sure they are set for the next day. She makes it look easy, but of course I know it’s far from easy. If I am working at home for a day and help her out I always ask her 'how do you do it all?' "

"When she is not being a mom to our four kids she is class mom to Chase’s 4th grade and Kendall’s Pre-K classes. She has been a class mom since Chase was in preschool, going on almost 7 years. Being a class mom involves much of her free time, which as you can imagine her free time is limited. Aside from a class mom, she is always offering to volunteer for the PTA functions."

"If she’s feeling a bit under-the-weather or exhausted from all the running around, she will still find time to play with our kids. She never settles down as there is always something or someone pulling for her attention. When your day start at 5:30 a.m. and doesn’t end until 12 a.m. there is never a chance to take a moment and just relax. She is always on the go."

"She does all this while still making dinner every night (sometimes two dinners because what kid like’s vegetables), keeping up around the house and getting the kids to their after school programs and sport practices."

"With both her mother and my mother no longer with us, both passed away before our first was born, Annie manages to handle everything with such ease. She never asks for much, other than her children to be happy and healthy. She always takes time to help someone else and puts herself last. While having children that range from age 7 months to 9 years old, it can be a tough making sure each child has what they need for the day. From school lunches and homework reviewed to what toy for show-and-tell will they bring in and to making sure the baby is fed and has a clean diaper, her days are never the same."
