Day 3 started with an early morning wake-up call to allow the Scouts to maximize their time in the elective areas. The breakfast feature was egg and sausage patty sandwiches with a brown bag lunch into their day packs. All Scouts quickly scurried out of camp to their desired high adventure elective activity.

As expected, the jamboree site is working-out the expected logistics issues associated with judging capacity matched with available versus actual, appropriately trained, staffing. Nevertheless, most Scouts managed to achieve at least one, if not two, high adventure elective activities. The most popular Troop B410 activities were shooting sports, High Gear mountain biking, followed by equal distribution amongst dragon boats, scuba diving, Low Gear mountain biking, and BMX biking.
The day concluded with a scrumptious chicken jambalaya dinner that was interrupted by numerous lightning alerts and a squall line that blew through camp. The second storm line resulted in Scouts being instructed to shelter in their tents in compliance with sub-camp B4 instructions. End of Day 3 troop accountability reported that two members (one youth and one adult leader) were accounted for as being present at Raleigh General Hospital with the youth member undergoing evaluation for possible appendicitis. The youth was initially evaluated at the base camp medical clinic, then transported via West Virginia National Guard ambulance to the main camp hospital with radiologic and hematologic assessment and then transported to the civilian hospital via contracted commercial ambulance.
