Hehnly School Hosts Career Day

On Thursday, April 19, in Clark hosted Career Day.

"Students learned what adults do for a living," said fourth-grader Alyssa Pittari. 

Students learned about different careers from presenters like a vet, a court reporter, a food broker, a physical therapist, a veterinarian, a major league soccer player, a medical device account manager, director of community relations for the Somserset Patriots, an attorney, a credit manager, a construction project manager, an optometrist, a dietician - and a Patch editor!

During our session, students helped Patch editor Jessica Remo write this story that you're reading right now.

Here are some quotes from students that our student-reporters collected:

"I think that career day is a great opportunity for students to get a better understanding of different jobs," said third-grader Alexa Velotti. "When I grow up, I want to be an editor for a magazine or a website just like Jessica. I write stories at home."

"I like that you get to hear about different careers and so then when you grow up you know about lots of choices," said fifth-grader Valerie Gonzalez.

"We got an idea of what we might want to do one day when we grow up," said fourth-grader Lily Gull.

"I was really excited to come to school and learn about the jobs and how much time and effort you need to put into them," said fifth-grader Briana Louro.

"I liked coming to this session because I like writing and I do a lot of that with my teacher Mrs. Venezio," said fifth-grader Gabby Stawinski.
