Man Arrested After Loaded Gun, Drugs Found In Car: Police

He was wanted in Pennsylvania.

RAHWAY, NJ — A man who was wanted for weapons and drug offenses was arrested in Rahway on Thursday, the Pocono Township Police Department said.

Sean Persing, 36 of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, is charged with:

  • Possession of firearm prohibited
  • Firearms not to be carried without a license
  • Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Driving under the influence/controlled substance/general impairment
  • General lighting requirements-rear lights offense
  • On Oct. 26, 2025, Pocono Township police officers stopped the car Persing was driving for a violation.

    After he showed signs of impairment, a field sobriety test was conducted, and he was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.

    While officers arrested Persing, they found that he was carrying a controlled substance.

    He was then taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility for processing.

    Officers then conducted a search warrant on his car and found a loaded gun and a "large quantity" of drugs and related paraphernalia consistent with distribution.

    Persing was also identified as a previously convicted felon who was not supposed to have a gun.

    He now awaits extradition to Monroe County after his arrest on Thursday in Rahway.
