Mother Seton Students Win Top Prizes in NJ Spanish Poster Contest

Three students from Mother Seton Regional High School took away top honors for the 2015 AATSP Spanish Poster Contest.

Students from Mother Seton Regional High School, Clark took top honors in the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) Poster Contest for the state of New Jersey.

Mrs. Karla Giron, Spanish teacher at Mother Seton, entered three student designs: two students in the digital poster contest and one in the hand-drawn poster contest and all three took top prizes. This year’s theme for poster designs was “Español: un puente al futuro - Português: uma ponte para o futuro” which translated means “A Bridge to the Future.”

Sophomore, Ashley Ann Thomas earned first place in the “Digital Poster” category for grades nine through twelve, while freshman Camille Martinez took second in the same category.

Freshman Ashleigh Heyder took third place in the “Traditional Hand-Drawn Poster” category also for grades nine through twelve.

Mrs. Giron “is thrilled that in the two years we have been participating in the program, we have always taken the top places. The AATSP Poster contest is a fabulous way for students studying language to express themselves and show creativity.” Mrs. Giron is looking forward to expanding the program next year as well.
