4 Arrested For Drug Possession In Cranford

Cranford Police arrested 4 people for drug possession including marijuana and cocaine, according to the police blotter.

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford Police arrested four people for drug possession including marijuana and cocaine, according to the police blotter.

Cranford Police Blotter:

On Jan. 24 at 1:51 p.m.: A 2002 Acura was stopped on the Garden State Parkway for being unregistered, having no front license plate and tinted windows. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Christopher Gross located suspected marijuana and paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Marc Tyler, 33, of South Plainfield was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and provided a municipal court appearance date. He was issued a motor vehicle summonses for an unregistered vehicle, tinted windows, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Jan. 26 at 2:28 p.m.: A 2011 Hyundai was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Hayes Street for an improper lane change and a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Gregory Federici arrested the driver, Kevin Tillman, 35, of Roselle for suspected cocaine and marijuana located inside the car. He was charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, controlled dangerous substance near school property, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia. Once processed, he was released pending a Superior Court appearance. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to signal a turn, a seatbelt violation, maintenance of lamps, a suspended driver’s license and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Jan. 26 at 9:53 p.m.: A 1999 Lexus was stopped on North Avenue East and Carpenter Place for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Robert Jordan arrested the driver, Daniel Hoilett, 27, of East Orange for suspected cocaine and marijuana. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia.Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for a seatbelt violation, no valid registration card in his possession, a suspended driver’s license and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Hoilett was released pending a superior court appearance.

On Jan. 27 at 10:21 a.m.: A 2002 Hyundai was stopped on Myrtle Street for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Nelson Hearns Jr., located suspected marijuana and paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver, Maliik Depina, 24, of Elizabeth was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a municipal court appearance. Additionally, he was issued a motor vehicle summons for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, an unregistered vehicle and a seatbelt violation.
