Annual Spring Scramble Will Promote Fun and Fitness

The one-mile race for all ages is scheduled for April 27 at 9 a.m.

Cranford’s Hillside Avenue School Parent-Teacher Association is hosting its sixth Annual HAS Spring Scramble, a one-mile race for all ages to promote fun and fitness, on April 27 at 9 a.m.

The PTA will organize activities for the children before and after the race, including a pre-race stretch, awards ceremony, finishers’ medals and a prize drawing. All pre-registered participants will receive a Spring Scramble t-shirt.

For race-day registrants, T-shirts will be available on a first-come basis. The race fee is $10 for pre-registered runners (before April 10) and $12 on the day of the race.

Race fees are capped at $40 per family. For a race application or questions,  email Tom Ruby at tomruby1@msn.com. Race-day registration begins at 8 a.m. The pre-race stretch and activities begin at 8:30 a.m., and the race starts at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to make this race a “green event” by bringing their own reusable water bottles to the race.
