The local college theater will present three one-act plays later this week. Admission is free.

The following press release was submitted by the Union County College Press Office.

The Spring Theater production, “Triple Play,” at Union County College features three one-act plays written by members of the College’s faculty and staff. The productions will be performed by Union County College students. After each performance, the audience is invited to ask questions of the playwrights.

The first play, “A Night at the Underground Railroad,” is a historic drama and was written by Michael Catalano, a member of the College’s Information Technology staff. The second play is “Firebird,” a serious comedy about the unlikely interactions between a professor and a student that takes some unexpected twists and turns. It was written by renowned playwright, Professor Andrea Green of the English/Fine Arts/Modern Languages Department. The third is a romantic farce titled, “All in Good Time,” which was written by Professor Michael Z Murphy, who is also a member of the English/Fine Arts/Modern Languages Department.

These free performances will be held on April 18 at 6 p.m. in the Lessner Building Theater, located at the College’s Elizabeth Campus at 12 West Jersey Street. Two performances, April 19 and 20, both at 7:30 p.m., will be held in the Roy Smith Theater, located at the College’s Cranford campus at 1033 Springfield Avenue.
