Cranford Library Welcomes New Director
Michael Maziekien formerly served as director of the Kenilworth Library.

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford Library has welcomed new director Michael Maziekien.
Maziekien is taking over as director following John Malar’s retirement in December. Malar served as the library’s director for 27 years.
“It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of a great leader who over the years built a wonderful staff,” Maziekien said. “I’m excited and looking forward to what the future will bring.”

Maziekien previously served as director for Kenilworth Library for the past four and a half years.
“Both Cranford and Kenilworth have terrific libraries,” Maziekien told Patch. “Cranford has a wonderful reputation for service and a great staff. And there is great support from the community.”

Maziekien plans to work closely with the library board of trustees to establish a vision and strategic plan for the Cranford Library moving forward.
