CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford Police arrest two people for marijuana possession following traffic stops in the township.
Cranford Police Blotter:
On March 5 at 9:45 a.m.: A 2007 Toyota was stopped at the intersection of North Avenue East and John Street for driving at night without headlights. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Timothy Handy arrested a passenger in the vehicle, Tahir Swinton, 26, of Linden for suspected marijuana and THC oil found inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of marijuana (under 5o grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for not having a valid insurance card in her possession.

On March 11 at 8 p.m.: A 1991 Acura was stopped for a headlight out on Commerce Drive near Raritan Road. Following an investigation on scene, Patrolman Brian Trotter arrested the driver, Christopher Lambides, 20, of Rahway for suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of marijuana (under 5o grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps, suspended driver and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
