Cranford Police Make 8 Arrests For Drugs, DWI

7 people were arrested on drug charges and 1 for driving while intoxicated in Cranford, according to the police blotter.

CRANFORD, NJ — A total of seven people were arrested on drug charges and one for driving while intoxicated in Cranford, according to the police blotter.

Cranford Police Blotter:

On April 10 at 10:11 a.m.: A 2005 Nissan was stopped on North Avenue East near the intersection of the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Thomas Bell arrested the driver, Manuel Ramos, 20, of Newark for suspected marijuana located inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of under 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued motor vehicle summonses for a seat belt violation, maintenance of lamps, suspended driver and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On April 11 at 1:17 a.m.: A 2012 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Cayuga Road for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Jason D’Agostino arrested the driver, Tesean Rease, 23, of Linden for suspected marijuana located inside the vehicle. He was charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of under 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued summonses for a seat belt violation, suspended driver, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On April 13 at 12:04 p.m.: A 2002 Ford was stopped at the intersection of Springfield Avenue and Holly Street for use of a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle. Following an investigation at the scene, Det. Michael Dubitsky arrested the driver, Monique Beaubien, 27, of East Orange for possession of prescription legend drugs. She was charged with possession of prescription legend drugs and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance date. Additionally, she was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, use of a cell phone by an operator of a moving vehicle, and no valid insurance card in her possession.

On April 14 at 3:06 a.m.: A 2013 Honda was stopped on Centennial Avenue near the Garden State Parkway 136 Exchange for failure to stop for a red traffic control device. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Michael O’Neil arrested the driver, Courtney Law, 28, of Piscataway for driving while intoxicated. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, processed and released to a responsible adult pending a municipal court appearance date. Additionally, she was issued motor vehicle summonses for refusal to submit to breath samples, failure to observe a red traffic control device, and careless driving.

On April 14 at 2:16 p.m.: A 2001 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of North Avenue East and the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Robert Jordan arrested a passenger, Khalid Shakoor, 19, of Newark for suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of under 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released with a pending municipal court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued summonses for being unlicensed and not wearing his seat belt.

On April 14 at 7:55 p.m.: A 2002 Honda was stopped on North Avenue East near the intersection of the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Robert Jordan arrested the driver, Emmanuel Jaquez, 31, of Perth Amboy for suspected heroin and marijuana located inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of under 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and provided with a superior court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for a seat belt violation and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On April 14 at 10:12 p.m.: A 2001 Mercedes was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for a head lamp out. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Christopher Gross arrested a passenger, Kaushal Patel, 25, of Edison for suspected heroin and hypodermic syringes found inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of hypodermic syringes and possession of paraphernalia, processed and provided with a superior court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps and a failure to wear a seat belt.

On April 16 at 10:51 p.m.: A 2015 Toyota was stopped on North Avenue East near the intersection of Springfield Avenue for failure to observe a red traffic control device. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Christopher Gross arrested the driver, Gregory Risicato, 35, of Weehawken for suspected marijuana located inside the vehicle. He was charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of over 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and provided with a superior court appearance date. Additionally, motor vehicle summonses were issued to him for failure to observe a red traffic control device and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
