Cranford Students Prepare For 2nd Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade

CRANFORD, NJ — As the Garden State prepares for more snow on Sunday, students in Cranford are preparing for the soon-to-be burst of green hitting the streets in March.

A group of Cranford High School juniors and seniors is hard at work designing and constructing an Irish heritage float for the St. Patrick's Parade on March 15.

The creation depicts an Irish cottage made by the Advanced Wood Class students.

Another class of woodworking students is busy making a desk for the parade announcers.

The students, all Junior Trustees of the St. Patrick's Parade Committee, meet weekly to build props and decorations ahead of the big day.

"Seeing all the people lining the streets was so exciting," said Rebecca Ferreira of the pride she felt at the parade in 2025.

The Cranford High School Marching Band will also be performing in their traditional blue and gold uniforms along the route.

"It was amazing seeing people smiling, singing, and coming together in celebration. It proves that Cranford is a great community," Senior Gabriella Hernandez added.

The 2026 event begins at 1 p.m. from the Cranford Community Center along Walnut Avenue and will travel along Springfield Avenue in Parking Lot 1.
