Disciplinary Hearing To Be Conducted In Open Session Tonight

The Township Committee will host a special meeting at 7 p.m.

The Township Committee will host a special meeting at 7 p.m. which will include a suspension hearing for Deputy Treasurer Brian Lanza.

According to Deputy Mayor Andis Kalnins, the employee requested that the hearing be held during open session, which means the public will be able to attend.

Officials have not revealed the exact reason for the suspension hearing. Lanza was appointed deputy treasurer on July 20, 2010.

The Township Committe will begin tonight's meeting in closed session to discuss Lanza's employment, according to a meeting noticed issued by the township clerk's office. The closed session will also include discussion of a contractual matter in connection with financial management services and an update of legal matters involving Cranford Development Associates - an LLC for the S. Hekemian group which owns the , and Lehigh Acquisition, the developer of property at .
