Can't get to London this winter? Luckily, in February, new digital cinema technology is bringing London arts and theater to visitors of Digiplex Destination theaters in Cranford, N.J. and Bloomfield, Conn.
On February 16, 2012, at 7pm the two Digiplex theaters will present "Leonardo Live," a satellite-delivered HD presentation of the exhibition "Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan," broadcast from The National Gallery. The historic exhibition is sold out in London and, due to the fragility of the paintings, the exhibition cannot tour.
Captured live on the eve of the exhibition opening in London this past fall, "Leonardo Live" provides a high-definition walk-through of the exhibition, in-depth commentary about featured pieces in the exhibit and extra content.

"Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan" brings together the largest-ever number of Leonardo's rare surviving paintings and some international loans that have never before traveled. The exhibition also brings together the largest-ever number of da Vinci's paintings, including a newly discovered, never-before-publicly exhibited painting, the Salvator Mundi.
Running time is 90 minutes. Admission is $12.50.

"London offers some of the best art and theater in the world, but it is difficult, and certainly costly to get over there," says A. Dale "Bud" Mayo, Digiplex Destinations chairman/CEO. "Viewing these presentations on a high definition screen in a comfortable theater is the next best thing.
"We wish we could figure out how to serve fish and chips, so for now, popcorn will just have to do," adds Mayo who Tweets regularly at @budmayo.
The Digiplex Cranford Theater is located at 25 North Avenue, Cranford; the Digiplex Bloomfield 8 Theater is located at 863 Park Avenue (Wintonbury Mall), Bloomfield, Conn.
