The Cranford Historical Society presents “Hidden Treasures from the Archives,” a power point presentation at the Crane-Phillips House Museum on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 2:30pm. Doors open at 2:00pm.
Madison Van Houten from Girl Scout Troop 544 will unveil 4 power point presentations that she has worked on to earn her Girl Scout Gold Award. For the last few months, Madison has been scanning and photographing items from the Cranford Historical Society Archival Collection. Through her hard work and creative efforts, Madison has put together these informational power point presentations which will allow guests of the museum to view many “hidden treasures” that the Cranford Historical Society has preserved through out its 84 year history. It includes their extensive Cranford post card collection and its export china dish set. Visitors will also be able to see the second floor of the museum without moving from their seats. Madison photographed the upstairs bedrooms to create another presentation. Now and in the future, this presentation will allow visitors who are unable to climb stairs get a close-up view of the bedrooms and their contents. In addition, there will be a presentation of the Cranford Historical Society marching in the 2011 Cranford Memorial Day Parade.
