
Alexander Shipley will talk about his book, The Case of the Unknown Woman: The Story of One of the Most Intriguing Murder Mysteries of the Nineteenth Century. The book concerns a young woman found brutally murdered in Rahway on March 26, 1887. As many as ten thousand people filed past her coffin to see if she could be a missing relative or friend. To this day she remains unidentified and the case is unsolved. Mr. Shipley is Rahway’s City Historian and the Director of Museum Operations at Rahway’s Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum. Copies of The Unknown Woman will be available for purchase and for signing. Admission is free and all are welcome.
