Lin's Liens, Inc is hosting "Karaoke for a Cause", Sing for Your Sisters who are undergoing treatment for Cancer. This event will take place this evening beginning at 7 p.m. at the American Legion, 24 Brown Avenue, Iselin. Admission is $30 in advance and $35 at door. Tickets include food, entertainment and cash bar.
Our Mission at Lin’s Linens, Inc. is to nurture and support women in treatment for cancer by creating a personal healing sanctuary that promotes a positive mind, body, and spirit connection crucial to the healing process. We are a non-profit tax exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3).
Fifteen years ago, Lin Salerno heard the word “cancer” for the first time and in the Spring of 2009, she heard that word again. Despite the rigors of the chemo regimen and with an exceptional and very positive attitude, Lin goes to work every day, enjoys all aspects of her passion for her horses and is involved with LLI in spreading the word and creating sanctuaries for other Program Sisters, as her siblings had done for her. This is why LLI was created.
To this end, we would like to invite you to donate the price of the $30 ticket to spend an evening in the 1980’s. Please come...we need continued support to help provide the funds to continue our work in creating sanctuaries in our Program Sisters homes - whether it be their bedroom, den, or living room. You cannot imagine the look on their faces when we reveal the newly decorated room to them and their families...it is priceless. Yes, we need mammos, we need research, but actually going in to a home and touching these families directly by creating these rooms, is simply so heartwarming. It is the one-on-one experience that is so wonderful and rewarding for all of us at Lin’s Linens.
We are a working board (no one gets paid - all donations go directly to creating these rooms), and we rely on volunteers to help us in this endeavor.
