The Wood Stove Cook: Historic Cooking Class, Fosterfields Living Historical Farm

The Wood Stove Cook: Historic Cooking Class at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm, 73 Kahdena Rd, Morristown.  These classes will take place on March, 7th, 14th & 28, 2012 from 10 am - 2 pm.  Admission is $35 per person, $25 for Friends of Fosterfields and Cooper Gristmill, with a valid membership card.

Are you curious about early 20th century food and its preparation?  Experience The Wood Stove Cook, a series of historic foodways cooking classes for adults at the Morris County Park Commission’s Fosterfields Living Historical Farm.  Basic, hands-on instruction in wood stove cooking techniques will be taught by staff on antique cast iron stoves in the Farmhouse and The Willows kitchens.

Participation in each wood stove cooking class is limited to 10 adults, and is by registration, only.  Participants meet at the Visitors Center at 9:45 am.

Call 973-631-5343, or e-mail sphillips@morrisparks.net to request a registration form, and for more information about the classes.  The registration fee is non-refundable, unless the class is cancelled due to weather conditions.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, the four cooking classes will feature recipes used by women who lived and worked at Fosterfields, as well as popular recipes of the era from the Morristown area.
