Hartz Application Adjourned From Cranford Meeting

Hartz is seeking to rezone the property to eliminate the office and warehousing uses in favor of multi-family residential use in Cranford.

CRANFORD, NJ — The controversial Hartz application to rezone 750 Walnut Ave. has been adjourned from the Cranford Planning Board meeting on Wednesday.

Hartz is seeking to rezone the property to eliminate the office and warehousing uses in favor of multi-family residential use.

Hartz is proposing to build 900 apartments where the former Bank of America office space is located. The project has received opposition from the Cranford Board of Education and Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso and the Clark Township Council.

Both Clark and the Cranford BOE passed resolutions expressing their opposition to the development. Bonaccorso and the town council also started a petition where they are urging Clark citizens 18 and older to sign it.
