Hartz Mountain Q&A Scheduled For Sept. 26
Hartz Mountain is proposing to build 900 apartments, where the former Bank of America office space is located at 750 Walnut Ave., Cranford.

CRANFORD, NJ — The Cranford Township Committee Meeting on Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. will have a Hartz Mountain question-and-answer time on the agenda.
The meeting is in Town Hall (Municipal Building), 8 Springfield Ave., in Cranford.

This has been a topic of contention in Cranford and even in neighboring Clark.
Cranford's Board of Education passed a resolution expressing their "extreme concern" about the project claiming it would "adversely impact the school district and create a hardship in which the district is not equipped to support."

Clark's Mayor Sal Bonaccorso and the Clark Township Council also passed a resolution on July 3 expressing Clark’s opposition to the development and also started a petition against it.
Cranford Residents Against Overdevelopment has also started a petition for residents to sign in opposition to the project. They also are selling 'Say No To 750 Walnut' lawn signs as well.
