Local Student to Receive Traffic Safety Award

Automobile Club to present National Award to Emily Rehbein

Creativity comes in many forms. For Emily Rehbein, a student at Hillside Avenue School, and her brother Christopher, it came in the form of developing a traffic safety poster, and their work will now be recognized.

The AAA New Jersey Automobile Club is hosting an awards dinner for winners of the AAA's 66th annual Traffic Safety Poster Program.  Winners will be recognized for using their creativity to create an outstanding safety communication message.

Emily will receive the National Award of Merit after entering the AAA's annual Traffic Safety Poster Program contest, which aims to reduce traffic-related fatalities through education and community outreach.  Students in grades K-12 created an original slogan and poster design in a selected safety category relevant to their age group.  The program promotes creativity and represents a unique opportunity for students to communicate important safety messages to their peers.
