• How a 100-Year-Old Indie Movie Theater Stays In Business (hollywoodreporter.com) — Cranford's historic Cranford Theater is nearing its 100th birthday, and owner Doreen Sayegh is keeping it thriving with creative programming, local drive-in events, and New Jersey–shot films. After surviving the pandemic and a ceiling collapse, the family-run cinema has fully reopened, drawing visitors into downtown Cranford for movies, comedy shows, recitals, and special screenings that support nearby businesses and community life.
   

• Cranford Artist Takes Best of Show as 13 Union County Seniors Earn Statewide Art Awards (rlsmedia.com) — Cranford resident Janet DeMaio earned Best of Show in the statewide New Jersey Senior Citizen Art Show, leading a strong showing by several Cranford artists. Union County officials are encouraging residents to visit the free exhibit in East Windsor through November 4, where nearly 300 works by older artists, including multiple Cranford award-winners, are on display.
   

• Cranford edges out Montgomery in double overtime to maintain perfect record (nj.com subscription) — Cranford's football team stayed perfect at 5-0 after a nail-biting 13-12 double-overtime win over Montgomery, powered by Logan Murray's decisive 8-yard touchdown and extra point. Quarterback Aidan Capizzi and receiver Luke Owens connected for Cranford's earlier score as the Cougars' defense held strong through regulation and two overtimes to preserve the undefeated season.
