Once thought to be dying, Cranford's 250-year-old Pepperidge tree is still flourishing.

Although Cranford's oldest Pepperidge tree, dubbed split in two last year and was thought to be a gonner, the 250-year-old tree is still alive and well, having survived an earthquake, a hurricane and an unusual October snowstorm.

Last year, it was feared that the tree would have to come down, after a tree service trimmed some of the branches on the split section to alleviate the weight, and they installed four support cables to anchor the unsteady bough to the main trunk of the tree.

One year later, and the tree is still alive and well.
