Monday April 10th: Healing Mass – 7:00 PM
The prophet Isaiah wrote, “…upon him was the punishment that made us whole and by his bruises we are healed.” The early church applied these words to Jesus. The Apostles view the cross as both what was wrong with humanity and a path to healing and wholeness. Come and remember those in need of healing and receive anointing for healing in the context of the Eucharist.
Tuesday April 11th: Tenebrae Service – 7:00 PM
Tenebrae means “shadows” or “darkness.” That is a perfect title for a service that prepares us so well, in heart, mind, even in body, for the three days when the Light seemed to fade. It is a haunting service of readings of Scripture. The most conspicuous feature of the service is the gradual extinguishing of the candles while a series of readings are spoken. The readings will be interspersed with instrumental music from the flute and piano.
Wednesday April 12th: A Meal in the Upper Room – 7:00 PM (Sherlock Hall)
What type of meal did Jesus and his disciples share in the Upper Room? Was it a Passover Meal? Come enjoy the epicurean delights of Middle Eastern Cuisine and hear a short presentation on the Last Supper.
Thursday April 13th: Maundy Thursday Mass & Vigil– 7:00 PM
The word “Maundy” comes from the Latin mandatum which means “command.” Beginning with Jesus’ command to serve each other, the evening will begin with the ritual of hand washing, showing us the true meaning of servant hood. Then the serviced will focus on the institution of the Eucharist within the context of the Last Supper Jesus celebrated with his disciples and we will witness the stripping of the altar and exit in silence. Those who wish to may keep the vigil through the night as the disciples did with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Friday April 14th: Good Friday – 8AM & 3:00PM
The Stations of the Cross service, with readings that describe and reflect upon the events Christ encountered carrying his cross to his crucifixion, led by Trinity’s group of young people preparing for Confirmation, will begin at 8:00 AM.
The Good Friday Liturgy at 3:00 PM includes readings of the Passion according to St. John, praying the Solemn Collects, the Adoration of the cross of Jesus, and distribution of Holy Communion using the reserve sacraments from the altar of repose. The service concludes in silence.
Saturday April 15th: Pascal Vigil Mass - 7:00 PM
The very heart of the Liturgical Year is the Paschal Vigil, the culmination of the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services. Share the depth and richness of our Faith as we light the Pascal Candle, remember great Bible stories, renew our Baptismal Vows, and celebrate Holy Communion.
Sunday April 16th: Easter Sunday Mass- 8:00 AM (Rite I) & 10:00 AM (Rite II) with music
Join in this joy-filled celebration of the Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. ALLELUIA!!
