Contemplative Holy Eucharist services are said services with readings followed by instrumental music.

Thursday April 18th: Maundy Thursday Holy Eucharist with Handwashing & Vigil– 7:30 PM

The word “Maundy” comes from the Latin mandatum which means “command.” Beginning with Jesus’ command to serve each other, the evening will begin with the ritual of hand washing, showing us the true meaning of servant hood. Then the serviced will focus on the institution of the Eucharist within the context of the Last Supper Jesus celebrated with his disciples and we will witness the stripping of the altar and exit in silence. Those who wish to may keep the vigil through the night as the disciples did with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Friday April 19th: Good Friday – Stations of the Cross 7AM & Taizé Service 7:30PM

Stations of the Cross is a series of images and related prayers covering events that Jesus Christ went through on the day of his crucifixion on Mount Calvary. Stations helps Christians make a spiritual connection to the suffering Christ endured on his Passion. It is typically a path of 14 numbered images arranged around the nave of a church. Worshipers stop at each station in order for specific prayers and reflections.

The Taizé form of worship utilizes short repetitive chants and periods of silence to nurture a quiet meditative space for us to encounter God. The church will be specially decorated for the service with Taize-inspired elements to create an environment of intimacy. Taize chants of short, repetitive phrases are quite simple to learn and pick up. Repeating the short but meaningful chants allows us to experience them more deeply.

Sunday April 21st: Easter Sunday Eucharist- 8:00 AM (Rite I) & 10:00 AM (Rite II)/music
